Anyway, enough crankiness from me. *Zuhaus//Home* is the first Philadephy record that really seems to have *songs* on it, rather than just compositions. And l'm talking pretty much every track - -what a surprise. Basically a singer-songwriter record, to the extent that, if he has an audience (in Austria?), they might even stupidly consider this a sellout or a compromise or whatever. (The songs are mostly but not always in English not German, actually.) And he really does sing somewhere between Gabriel and Wyatt in the 70s. Yet there is no big dropoff of artsy weirdness or hypnotic drone; it's just way more melodic. Beautiful. "Inyl" almost even feels country, in an odd way. My favorite tracks so far are probably "Zuhaus/Home". 'Time," "Sides," "Rainy Day," "Inyl," and "Bitte," but l think l like the whole thing. (xedd...), Time Out April 6th, 2006.

The two original Tyrolean soundmakers Martin Philadelphy and Christian Martinek have held each other in great estimation since the jazzpunk project “Paint", in which the two freethinkers like to express their momentary musical fantasies. To excavate and live a punk attitude in disco music (in terms of ideas, at least), is what Philadelphy (,,chef de guitare", vocals) and Martinek (electronician, DJ, soundcraft), forming a two man band, is interested in. The outcome grooves somewhere between rock house, dub'n'roll and electro guitar pop - but too original to be put into a specific drawer. In any case, with their smart grooves, genuine, unsampled guitar riffs and equally genuine, because cynical and honest, lyrics, the two ,,children of the 80ies" bring a pretty spot of cherry green into Austrias club music scene.
